I'm trying hard to figure whether it is a wind up or true. What's more, I'm not sure which would be funnier... :D

It has to be a windup, the fake Whitehouse link had me fooled for a while though:

    http://www.whitehouse.org/dof/faith-funding.asp

Just as funny. I'm amazed the real Whitehouse (.gov instead of .org) hasn't clamped down on that one.

    :bs:

Another one of those jokes that seems to think because they are making fun of the western official religion then it is fair game. They don't have guts to make fun of other religion in case they are condemn as racist.

However, is the PS2 still the toy to own? I have suspicion that game machines are really aim towards adults rather then for children.

Taliban? :rds2: That is another easy a target init, since they don't have real support even by muslims or any other religious group.

By the way, when I am scrolling for a smillie ....... I notice one refer as Tones. :tones: What is this for?

wolfgang, it's not Christianity per se that they're taking the piss out of but rather the fanatical ultra-right wing (and frankly, pretty scary) version of it that seems to be espoused by so many in the US Republican party.

True. All believe system taken to the extreme without consideration to other are scary. What really scares me is the animal rights protector.

Here is another one.... why is this :bakeoff: label as bakeoff? Most I could figure out but a few I just don't get it? Some are really cool but never seems to find the correct situation to use it yet.

No idea wolfgang. That smiley (along with many others) was carried over from GrooveHandle so it's original meaning might have got lost by now.

no the really scary one is the pro-life protester who commits murder.. how's that work then? pro-life... murder, something wrong surely?

the first smilie is for tones, an irish, australian living in switzerland iirc. the smilie pictured is, i believe, for the australian part - i.e. a bushmans hat with dangly vinegar soaked corks.

the second smilie is probably a familiar situation at larger bakeoffs where the host has one loo for the 10 or so people who turn up and who lays on lots of beer.
    cheers

The Tones smiley is, I believe, for our very own Tones due to the little Swiss hat.
The bake-off one I think refers to when everyone is round at someone's house for a bake-off and the toilet is always occupied :D.

It's an Australian one put on at my request, Wolfgang - the smilie is wearing a hat with corks on strings hanging around the brim (old bush method to keep the flies away). Well done, Julian, you'd put an elephant to shame.
