If you download WM Recorder you should be able to save them to the hard drive

I am still having trouble coming to terms with her strange voice!!

A nod to classical folk? Hmmm.

Kind of epic in places, but a tad samey?

I never give up until at least 5 plays of a new disc.

Joanna Newsom & The Y's Street Band E.P

    3 tracks.

1 new one "Colleen". Could sit somewhere between the two albums, but quite different to both. Still very "folky" but in a MOre medieval way. She played it live and it went down very well. Perhaps the stand out of the new tunes I'd heard live.

The other two tracks are new takes on "Clam, Crab, Cockle, Cowrie", and "Cosmia".
Great versions and well worth a getting your grubby mitts on!

I came across Kate Rusby a few years ago after hearing Cara Dillon "Black is the colour" (http://www.myspace.com/caradillon) and looking for similar artists. I've not bought anything by either, but did come across quite a lot of others using the likes of amazon and their "you may also like", features.

Some really good stuff, but not sure I'd get much play out of them. Give "Black is the colour" a listen though.

Finally got around to buying this after reading this thread and then checking out a vid of her on youtube. My initial reaction was "Glurk! What have theose Zerogainers got me into!" but as with most others here, after a couple of listens I was sold. I'm trying to make sense of some (ok, most!) of the lyrics but its amazing stuff anyway.
I bought Bjorks latest at the same time and its funny to hear an album make the Bjork album sound almost mainstream!

I got Ys. Think her other stuff will be on my list once I've worn Ys out.

    Don't delay..... get it today!!!

Can't be arguing with a rhyme now can ya?

Compared to Y's, TMEM is pretty much a pop album. Bother are 10/10 in their own right, but where as Y's is much grander with it's long pieces, TMEM has shorter and catchier tunes. It really is a work of brilliance though. GET IT NOW!!!

Lol, no indeed I can't argue with that! I'll put it to the top of the list!

Shorter and catchier sounds good as her sound could do with with being available in 'Bite Size' format as well as 'Big Gulp' to suit the occasion.

Ok, I've just ordered it due to the fact that I've been playing Ys back to back over the last couple of nights. It really is beautiful. I don't think I've done that with an album very often at all.

I can't imagine you'll do anything but the same with TMEM then :)

It's hard to say which is the better album as they're both doing different things.
One of things that blows me away with Ys is that in each track there are several melodies or such where you think they could make a whole track out of them alone.

There's some genuinely brilliant songs on TMEM! Spine tingling, foot tapping and generally smile envoking in places. Me thinks you'll like it.

Look forward to reading your thoughts.

Don't forget there's also the "Joanna Newsom & The Ys Street Band E.P."
