What opportunities are available for somebody with no qualifications, that possibly pays more than £4.00ph and holds few responsibilities?

Cockle picking in Morecambe Bay...I've heard it can be dangerous though ;)

Jobs I did as a student that meet your requirements included:
    - general dogsbody at Texas Homecare for a week before doing what I (and the rest) were hired for which was to rip up and old store and steup a new one across the road.
    - assembling taxi/police radio base stations for Philips on a production line. Only had to demonstrate I knew how to use a soldering iron.
    - scaffolding monkey (ie, the poor sod who has to carry the tubes and boards to/from the truck. They're quite heavy :(

production line as Micheal said. quite often if they see you are one of the people who has left the trees there will be a chance of promotion. I started 5 years ago with HP on a line, 2 months in i was a team leader. Now engineer for storage products.

Wow. A myriad of stimulating vocations.

So decent honest toil pays peanuts across the board then?

The dollars are commensurate with responsibility and certificates?

The gentleman for whose benefit this query relates to has already mastered the arts of the aforementioned pursuits in one guise or another. Though i don't believe he has ever been fortunate enough to receive payment for sex.

He was hoping there may be other avenues as yet undiscovered.

Hmmm, yes quite plausible i'm sure. However this gentleman was just looking for regular employment. I feel the self-employed route might prove too demanding for his sensibilities. He would still be prepared to sweat though, and have his physical abilities tested to the limit if necessary.

So basically no skills = no money?

What about physical exertion? Does anybody pay for that?

Or you could just create a pyramid scheme and make a hundred thou in a few weeks.... this is currently one of my proijects. Sod the morality.

I don't want to face the prospect of down and out fogeydom and it's potential for being fed talcum powder by mad black mumma jumba's with attitude.

ok, my friend is very disappointed at the responses so far. He is adamant that his arse is not for sale, and has now upped his earning requirements to something more realistic, as his 'slightly more than £4.00ph' was slightly innacurate.

I don't believe hospital porters or delivery drivers are paid that much?

He has been a delivery driver before and was paid poorly.
