I've always sorta dismissed them through default. But a few people who I'd expect to know better seem to find them acceptable. Apparantly they shouldn't just be wrote off based on a few crap singles.

Never heard the album MOself though, so couldn't really say.

    Who else was on there?

The LP is pretty good I reckon. Yes, they were excellent on Jools.
Arcade Fire were good (whos LP is great btw), Foo Fighters (also excellent), Maurizo sp?! who was amazing. A band called Hard Fi (I think) who I hadn't heard of, pretty interesting, they had a guitar synth on the go so it had a kind of dance guitary feel like Primal Scream and so on but it was more like prog house than acid. Not sure how much substance was there though.

REALLY dissapointing Ry Cooder didn't play though.

    Arcade Fire!!!!

I heard a tune from these about a MOnth or so ago and forgot the name until now! Can't remember anything about it, other than thinking t'was a name to remember, and the singer had an interesting voice!

Thanks for jogging the meMOry :)

NP, bought the record a while ago cuz I'd seen it advertised on pitchfork and it has a really nice sleeve. Its great, the singer sounds like Brighteyes (a kind of off key broken wail, sounds odd but really suits what they do) and the music reminds me of Godspeed You Black Emperor! Raise your skinny fists... sometimes, with lots of violins in the builds and twiddly guitar crescendos etc.
    Its good.
