Seems she's got a new album "Mind, Body and Soul" on the way.

And this time she's been doing a lot of the writing herself by the sounds of it.

Seems there's quite a few people here who like her stuff so......

I'm just listening to Jill Scott (Words and Sounds Vol. 1) on Vinyl and it's luvly!!!!

Ordered her next album. Can't wait for that to come. But I do like Joss Stone and the mighty Angie (of course).

In other words, all of the artists in this thread. :)

I've got to say its occured to me what I don't like about Joss....I just think her voice is not very musical. Its powerful yes, but not rich like Mary J for example.
Maybe it will change as she gets older as we discussed on the last Joss thread.

    Ditto Heavymental.

Powerful voice. Gets irritating very quickly though.

Lacks real soul (for now) - Aretha Franklin, Jill Scott (her voice is a bit rough on her live album though), Anita Baker, Eva Cassidy... all, to these ears, sound better.

On a first listen (only listened once in the car sofar) I have to say that her first album is better, this may change as I get into it, would agree with her lack of "soul", but give her 20 years and she is gonna be mighty. However I would suggets she leave rthe writing up to someone else.

I bought the second album and I quite like it...allthough the line in one song that's something like "I listen to our song on my iPod" just sounds really naff.

One of my fave tracks on the album is track 15 which is hidden. It's one of those ones where the last labelled track (14) has 5 minutes of song and then 10 minutes of silence. I had the CD on in the background and got quite a surprise when the music started again after I'd thought the album was over.

Not saying it's bad michael, just not had time for a proper listen, seems more commercial on first listen though.

I took me few listens but now I prefer it to the first album.

ya i heard teh silance and looked over to see the time still ticking and though yay, secret tune and waited and wated and it came (yes i know i could of pushed the fast foward button). my dad borrowed the cd the next day and was so shocked that there was an extra track that he had to tell me, (it was the first time he had heard one lol.)

She deserves a slap for that. I frickin hate hidden tracks with long periods of silence.

Since she's good looking though, it can be a playful impish slap across the butt :D

So do ANY of these "hidden" tracks have an index marker? My Pioneer CDRW can access these (and I think my 1985 Technics SL-P2 can as well) - just curious?

As for the playful slap across the butt - I'd rather have a playful fondle down her front but... Ahem!

I don't think this one uses index markers. My Teac transport displays the index number but I don't think you can select them for playback.

mine shows it as track 15, but only when you move to it, index only has 14 listed.
