He;s been out of hospital for three weeks now, today for the first time he walked to the main road which is about 200 yards away, before the operation he could only walk 100 yards.

He is also getting into the internet, which I find amazing since two weeks ago he has never even switched a computer on in his life, the other day he managed to get a quote for his car insurance. My uncle gave my grandparents an old PC and he is paying for the broadband connection on it. My experience with older people is they cannot uses PCs at all, my grandad is doing very well although he dosn't really understand how it works but he has a good understanding within a limited area.

Hopefully my grandad will be able to celebrate his 79th birthday soon, we still don't know if the cancer has gone, but he has been feeling better although he is pain due to the stiches. He may also need another major operation because of the cancer in his liver (it has spread) but doctors are hoping its only small amount and that it can be treated with drugs.

He is not in the clear yet but he's happy and trying to get on with life the best he can.

I only wish I will be as strong as him if I ever get to 78, its amazing how old people can give you strength.
