I tripped up over my headphones most plug is now stuck in my amp and I have nothing to grip it with as its flush with the facia, how much is it likely to cost to get this fixed?

It is a Cambridge Audio Azure 640A.

I think you could do this yourself...think this issue was mentioned on the wam...
iirc one solution was to solder something to it and pull it out...

I tried pliers but it has just made it worse, I think a new plug may be the only solution :(.

I don't want to spend much as I only paid £100 for the amp though I think the amp is worth more than what I paid.

I don't know the particular amp, but you will probably find that if you take the lid off, pull the knobs off and remove the front fascia panel you might be able to either get a grip of the plug, or (depending on the socket type) push it out from the other side. If not the socket may be a bog standard type and be replaceable.

    good advice .....

If your still stuck ....pm me I can normally sort these sorts of things

what can you see ....is it a solid metal pin ? you could try a thin jewlers screwdriver to lever out the recalcitrant remains ....

failing that you could either get a very fine drill bit and drill into the stub then insert a small screw into the hole then using the pliers grip the screw and withdraw the broken plug ...

    was it a 1/4 inch ?

Yeah 6.25mm, I've tried everything, there is a good local HIFI shop I got that aircraft cable made up at so I will take it to them, with all the hassles with the various cars and work problems I have no more time to look at it.

This is the amp for reference.

Like Tony said, there is a good chance if you take the lid off you can poke it out from the other side. Worth the 5min to look before you take it to the shop.

You should give him a plug then, for being a jolly good egg. :)

Sound and Vision on Barlow Moor Road, Chorlton, Manchester.

Its basically an old style HIFI repair shop.

He just got griped it with some much better pliers than the ones I had :) He did struggle a bit though and used various tools.
