    hi,

was looking to get a relatively cheap pair of speakers for a second hi-fi setup using a Marantz CD67 CDP and NAD C370 amp.

had my eye on the following, which r all below ?100:

    1) KEF Coda 70s (new SuperFi)
    2) AE Energy Aegis Evo1 (demo from Currys)
    3) TDL Nucleus 2 (RicherSounds)
    4) Eltax Liberty 5+ (RicherSounds)

havent heard options 1, 2 or 3 but was quite impressed with the small TDLs, considering i could get them for ?50! would appreciate any comments or input.

    cheers,
    Long.

A guy I know has the Eltax Liberty 5's - they're bright, cheerful and decent enough for £100, much better than the equivalent Mission offerings to my ears.

If you could get a pair of Tannoy Revolution R2s, that'd be even better.

    hi Pete,

how u doin? i'm getting lost here, as i posted this topic on 3 different forums...

not sure if i can get the Tannoy R2s for anywhere near ?100, they're still in high demand. i did listen to some R1s a while back, just out of curiousity, at home as well. it was a civilised sound, smooth, but not very exciting and rolling at the top and bottom. i know the R2s do sound different, but still wont be able to get them for 100 squid (unless i'm really lucky).

    thanx,
    Long.
