    VERY helpful for boosting the bass at low listening levels, much like the old 'loudness' switch. Other than that, if you like to see a nice graph showing the frequencies your system is playing! You don't have to actually use the thing, just have it display pretty lights! Anyway, this is a 'posh' one and you can adjust the levels to suit your listening room, ie make an acoustically poor room sound like a good one. Not for audiophiles obviously 'cos they'll turn their nose up at such things....even though they spend hundreds on cables and interconnects to achieve the same effect :D
