I am putting a new system together. Musical Fidelity KW 500 Integrated amp, Cyrus 8CD SE going into Audio Physic scorpio 2 speakers.

I'm quite new to this higher end of hi fi and was wondering if anyone can offer some advise on what speaker cable I should be looking at for this set up.

I don't mind spending a bit, but don't want to break the bank.

I've seen a set of Kimber 8TC's are these any good or should I be looking elsewhere?

    Thanks

Having spent loads of cash on Nordost cables in the past (I had a complete Valhalla loom!) I can strongly recommend that you put a call into the good people at The Missing Link. They are based in Notts, and are happy to send you out cables to try at home.
Mark is a no Bullsh*t guy and will give you his advice on the best way to spend your scarce financial resources.

And so are 4TC for that matter, and notably cheaper too.

If you are of a mind to believe that cables sound different to each other apparently 8TC sound pretty much the same as 4TC but with a bit more bass, (extension and amount).

Either way, I've been very happy with the 4TC I bought as an upgrade to what was then the "standard" QED 79 strand. So much so I've never bothered to consider changing my speaker cables.

8TC is an excellent cable and a good used buy. It is also popular so holds its price well should you want to move it on later.
