what a nightmare I had trying to cut squash balls in half ....but if you can make some wooden cups that will take the balls ..this will be nearly as effective as the inner tube thing....

I tried the inner tube thing ..never really did it for me ....

An interesting thought has just occurred......

Do you need [rhetorical question] to get over a certain threshold  of performance or resolution before these  tweaks become audible...

I know davidf wont mind me saying that when I first went to see him ..his kit didn't sound great ....but that same kit after a bit of sorting started to sing ...so if we had tried some of the techniques early on  I'm doubting if they would have been heard ?
