Hi Shane and welcome to the forum.

How about listing some of the music you're enjoying?

Wow! sc, this is interesting. I can picture the scene from Alien, where the crew are exploring the navigator's ship - Cloud Chamber is playing as a soundtrack - dark, dark, dark, oh, and foreboding as well.

If I like this, would it be a good idea to buy the Deathprod Box Set, instead of just Morals and Dogma?

    Yes it would Rod!

I had my playlist on the bbc3 latejunction site for a while (don't think they've used it), my theme being tracks that ought to be soundtracks movies. It featured a deathprod track, not one that's on the box set, but one in the same vein with very weird vocals – I'll do you a copy if you like.

If you fancy some really dark electronica, check out the label Cold Meat Industry, all sorts of strange and twisted stuff.

That looks precariously goth Mr. C... is it?

For seriously gut rumbling drones I like Sunn0))), not electronica by any stretch of the imagination, but we're open-minded chaps aren't we? (just no goth please)

Some of it may well be, but there's Scandinavian satanic industrial noise, some very murky, strangely themed albums (I've got one about a lunatic asylum which I can't listen to in the dark  ) , some electroacoustic, wind chimey stuff, some chanting with synths and all sorts of other stuff. This shop has some Cold Meat Industry stuff, and lots of other very interesting music, www.equilibriummusic.com (for the open-minded).

I heard a snatch of Sunn0))) a good while back and wasn't overly impressed. However, I have been listening to (and enjoying!) some wierd sh*t recently, so I should probably revisit. Where should I start?

Try the ealrly Klang Elektronik Label stuff, there's a great vinyl box set called 'Farben: Starbox', if you can find it that's a superb set.

The later Alter Ego stuff (the music that was used in the summer by the BBC for their learning/education directive), is more Electro/upbeat.

Here's a selection of what I listen to on that label:

KLANG 64 Jacek Sienkiewicz - Slope EP
Lc10938 Farben Starbox - box set
KLANG 69 Alex Cortez - Reticarga EP
KLANG 71 Betrieb Schlechte - Vorbilder EP

I have thousands of vinyl alot of which spans the development of electronic music over the years (from first Kraftwerk (Tone Float) and Tangerine Dream albums), people call me a bit of an electronic nutter!!

I frequent Soulseek so if you need to check some material out drop me a PM and I will explain how you can get online and listen to some of my collection. ;)

I've been listenin to Snork Maiden, "We sell milk" quite a bit lately after finally getting my copy back. www.snorkmaiden.co.uk

There's samples and such on the site.

They seem to have gone a bit quiet lately and have their fingers in various other musical pies.

Cool! Just put 8-bit weapon into google and found their site http://www.8bitweapon.com
I see what you mean. Their "instrument" choice seems similar too with gameboys and the like being the weapons of choice :D

I'd never heard of 8 Bit Weapon 'till this thread but if you rate Fundanalogue then I can recommend KarlMarxStadt (2001 - 2004 is the better of the two vinyls but they are compiled on a single CD).

and for some really insane vocoder action, try GrabbaGrabba Tape (from Madrid)
