Just posted a "review" (a very brief one) of their LemonJelly.ky album here on the Reviews & Reccomendations thread.

Err - comments here please so as not to clutter up the reviews thread :)

I've got their second album (Lost Horizons) aswell. Need to listen to it again but so far not as impressive as their debut (which in itself is a compilation of their first 3 EPs).

I've heard a few mp3s but don't own any of their stuff yet. Liked pretty much everything I've heard though so will have to follow it up soon.

Oh, and funky album covers too :D

The first reply and i'm already about to go off on a tangent sorry.... Did you get the Lamb album?

I've got both lemon jelly albums, they are both good. If you like chillout then I recommend these albums to anyone.

Thanks to MO, I've heard this and thought it was very mellow. I like it.

Listened to the Lamb album again and not entirely my :latte: I don't know how you can say it's mellow Ian - all that drum machine stuff is just manic!

The track "Gorecki" reminds me of "Frozen" by Maddona on the Ray of Light album :duck: It's got exactly the same beat to it.

Might still be a "grower" album for me though.

Second LemonJelly album (Lost Horizons) also not a patch on the first one :(

ky is amazing but i agree with u michael, lost horizons is nowhere near. the 2nd track really ruins it for me before it's even started, it's got a stupified happy tone to it that i just can't do with

i've got my hands on debut after the recommendation here and am well impressed. i'd heard a few things from them before but didn't expect the album to be this good, class!

OT: anyone heard waves 2 (crydamoure) or any of the releases from it? i've just got it and it's very sweet, booming funky rocking house with some serious class, check it out if u can

I'm pretty sure Gorecki was out a fair bit before Frozen!

Obviously we all have different tastes, but c'MOn! It's an amazing album! One of the few albums I KNOW would make it into my personal top 10. It may be a grower, I loved it from first play. Never had the chance to see them live, but a few mates have a couple of times and apparently they kicked it off big time! They use a lot of live instruments BTW Michael! Including drums! ;)

    1000000000 out of 10 album!

Lemon Jelly's 1st is alot better than the second IMVHO my 2.5 yr old is also a big fan of "nice weather for ducks" strange how all under 5s love it!!

As for Lamb it's a great album listened to it the other night and still as good as ever...Madonna often steals stuff she's built her career on it after all, LOL, Goreki is better than anything she's put out. I find Madonna is technically good and obviously popular but about as emotional as a wet fish....

Have another listen late at night and I think Lamb will grow on you.

Having thought I didn't own any other Lamb records I was sorting out my "loose" CDs and getting them all on the rack (in alphabetical order of course :torkmada: ) and I discovered I already had their "What Sound" album :shame: I like it a lot better than the first Lamb album it has to be said.

Going through my CDs like that I realised there's so much I haven't listened to for ages and it really is sad if I can't even remember what I've got! Found a few more to put onto the "must listen to soon" list...

Really? Personaly as much as I like What Sound, I've found that the three albums have got progressively.... how do I word it? Less Genius. None are bad! All are great! But orede of preference for me would be Debut, fear of fours, then what sound.

I recently did the a-z (I even typed up a list!!!) thing. The main thing I noticed wan't how many i've got that I don't listen to much. MOre, how many had gone missing!!! I'd put it anywhere up to 50 cds!

Well I'm a 39yr old fan of "nice weather for ducks" and "Spacewalk" 2nd album far superior to 1st.

I too think the 2nd album is better than the first, although the ducks track is dire IMHO. Love the other tracks though.

I still haven't heard the first one, but Lost Horizons seems pretty damn good to me - I particularly like "Experiment Number Six" but I can't recall "Nice weather for ducks" off the top of my head - will have to play this again when I get back to Exeter :)

I heard them on a compilation CD I got... u know... best of 2001 or some such cack...

and... I absoluitely love the track on it... Ive been meaning to buy KY ever since.

Its the one talking about imagining a time before the was anything at all... the beginning of time, before time itself etc etc!!

Ive played that one track about 40 times!

I nearly got it on LP the other day, but I balked because it was £19.99 ulp!!

it kinda reminds me of an old album I bought when I was about 17..

malcolm mclaren and the bootzilla orchestra !

    if anyone remembers that 1!
