Limit on Toslink Length?

    Guys my move to digital lifestyle ala Mac moves well I have now ordered a 200gig harddrive.

    I am keeping an eye for a DAC, but scanning maplin I notice 5 metre toslink cables. They also have connectors to link to cables together.

    What would the deal be on this, will it work? How far does the light go. Will ten metres be ok?
