Sounds like a component problem from a supplier, which happens more than many care to admit. Very brave of them to advertise this product recall, and demonstrates that customer safety is still their number one priority.

Think preventing any litigation is as high on their list of priorities as customer safety. :)

lol, cynicism is alive and well. Sure, the two are related, however I remember an interview with Ivor Tiefenbrun in Hi-Fi Review about 15 years ago where Ivor listed customer safety ahead of sound quality in his list of priorities.

    Paul,

I'll stick up for Linn here, the CD12 makes an excellent transport as opposed to slightly above average player that it manifests itself as (Really)

So it bloody-well should at £11000 (or whatever) - it was snore inducing the only time I've heard it (admittedly at a hifi show), though it did an OK job of the Cardigans' "Erase and rewind"...

Nice boomboxes too (LP12s - who wants to lay bets on who'll slate me first for that one, he he???*)

*I have heard an LP12 I've liked, before I got totally flamed!

Which show? I've heard Linn demo at the Novotel in Hammersmith when the Hi-Fi News show was there, and it sounded grey and dismal. However in a proper room, the converse is the case.
