I have Fedora Core but I don't know how to use the shell, so I can only stall programs that come with an RPM (redhat package manager).

I would also like to do stuff like install Apache on it, I have supposed to have installed MySQL but I can't find it anywhere

Does anybody know of any good e-guides for using Linux properly?

At the moment I am using windows for all my PHP work  I am writing a CMS which has to send out emails, and Windows behave differently to Linux in this situation, my host of course uses Linux.

You need to build a LAMP Server (Linux, apache, mysql, php) type that into google along with "tutorial" or "how to" or something and you'll find plenty to keep you busy, its not that hard, and its a good fun. If you want to send emails you'll need a mail server for a start, should be on with your linux distro (unlike windoze).

    Good luck.
