    Two acronyms that cause confusion: IC and RS.
    In electronics land IC is an Integrated Circuit, RS is RS components (a major industry supplier).
    In HiFi land they mean interconnect and Richer Sounds.

    I have this site bookmarked, however some of the more specialised Hi-Fi forum speak might need some independant working out.

    I used to go on management courses peopled by twunts who thought that using acronyms invested them with power and knowledge. They used to hate it when I'd interrupt and always ask what everyone that they used meant whether or not I already knew.

    James,
    no offence is taken sir.

    I've never seen a fat cnut before, plenty of slim and rounded ones, peach like too and ones with long lips.
    I suspect you've seen quite a few in your line of work and hifi :)

    Since I saw some car abbreviations, I thought I'd add some that I've come across in my travels.

    I must stress these are not my personal opinions, (well apart from fiat) but they are funny!

    AUDI = Another Ugly Deutsche Invention
    BMW = Big Money. Why?
    Fiat = Found In a Tip, or
    Fiat = Fix It Again, Tony
    Ford = Found On Road Dead, or
    Ford = Fix or Repair Daliy
    Lotus = Lot Of Trouble, Usually Serious
    MG = Mostly Garaged
    PORSCHE = Proof Of Rich Spoiled Children Having Everything
    SAAB = Sad Attempt At Beauty
    TOYOTA = The One You Ought To Avoid
    TRIUMPH = This Really Is Unreliable Man, Please Help!
    VOLVO = Very Odd Looking Vehicular Object
    VW = Vintage Wreck, or
    VW = Virtually Worthless

    You forgot:

    BMW - Break My Windows
    SKODA - Standard Cause Of Daily Absence (I know the letter C is different but pronunciation is roughly the same so I'm counting it)
