For those in / around Exeter there are some great gig's on this month

They have Ozric Tentacles on Sat 15 and System 7 on Friday 21st Jan.

I have told that ALL proceeds from these gigs will be going to the Asia Tsunami Appeal, good one.

    See you there.

There's some good stuff in March at the Phoenix too.... I shall definitely be going to both of these!

    THE ABYSSINIANS plus DILLINGER
    Sat 5 / doors open 8.30pm / £12 (£10) / standing
The Abyssinians, known for their spiritual anthem "Satta Massagana," are one of the most influential reggae bands of all time. In 1969 Kingston, Jamaica, brothers Donald and Linford Manning formed the roots-heavy trio with Bernard Collins. In the 70s, The Abyssinians sang of protest, spirituality and devotion, mixing patois and Amheric to create a new cultural awareness. Their first album, Satta Massagana , included "Declaration Of Rights" and "African Race." In 1982 they released their second album Forward which featured further anthems "Mabrak" and "Forward Onto Zion." It's their first UK tour and a coup for Vibraphonic, especially as supporting is original Channel One DJ/toaster Dillinger, a formidable live artist himself, who emerged out of the Jamaican sound system scene in the 70's with the classic 'Cocaine In My Brain', a parody of the US music scene.

    RICHARD SINCLAIR'S CARAVAN OF DREAMS
    Sun 20 / 8pm / £10adv (£12door) + BF / standing
FSOE present the heart and soul of the Canterbury Scene… Mr Richard Sinclair! Joined by prog-percussion legend Pip Pyle (Hatfield and the North, Gong), jazz fusion guitar hero Phil Millers (Hatfield and the North, In Cahoots), blowing on all things brass Theo Travis (LTK Bukem, 4 Hero, Gong), and up'n'coming keyboard wizard Alex McGuire, Richard will be playing classics from Camel, Hatfield and the North - and of course - Caravan. DJ Ambiessence will be on the Prog- Fusion mix, Bostin Powers psyches up the bar.

The Ozrics kicked arse - only bad bit of the night was the fire alarm 5 mins into the DJ set after the Ozrics finished; even that was cool in the end though, as I got a large amount of amusement out of a whacked-out girl and a bloke dancing to the fire alarm outside (candyflip, methinks!). She got my glowbands as a reward...

So lhatkins - are you guys gonna do System 7? I thought you were (as I got the impression from Ali) but it seems that it's not set in stone yet. I have a ticket and am gonna go either way - they are NOT to be missed. Saw them at the Stratford Rex in March 2003 and they were full on!
