Sean Adams must be minted now.

Don't know if it's for the long term good though. Depends if they let SD keep going along their highly innovative route without meddling too much, but I doubt it really. One of SD's attractions was the 'cottage industry' feel to the whole operation (in a good way). Couldn't imagine the CEO of Logitech posting on his own forum.

Sean Adams says that things will stay pretty much the way they were, while taking advantage of Logitech's marketing capability. The Logitech logo will appear on their gear though (why not, after all I'm pleased with my mouse :) )
And it's refreshing to see someone make it big time before the age of 30.

At least they will really start to make a serious impact on the market.

I guess the CEO could see the writing is on the wall with all the big players trying to get a piece of the music server action. Slim Devices would have probably only remained a niche player no matter how good their product was.

And in particular outside the US, as their customer base in Europe must be very small (with the exception of the UK perhaps). AFIK the only way to become acquainted with their products until today was by hearing of them on a Hi-Fi forum like ZG.

Hopefully, Logitech can bring a more structured approach to the SlimServer software development. All the constant revisions/bugs were getting a bit OTT.

With the added risk that if they involve a few full-time developers, they may be tempted to start selling upgrades:(

I think this could be a good move, have a look at the Harmony 1000 remote, which is cheaper than the Sonos remote

If they put that and the SB3 together, it should be a Sonos beater

I'm sure it's a good move. At least a sensible capitalistic move.

Should bring the price down to around £100 a pop for the audiophile setup then! ;)
