    I can never understand how mail order companies can ask full wack for HIFI stuff, what about the demonstration facilities etc you expect to apy for? With mail order I either expect a big discount or I will just buy it from a shop.

    They expect full price because the catalogue mail order companies offer payment terms so you can pay by the week etc. Whether you use these terms or pay in full you are buying from a source that is offering credit and although most catalogue marketing companies offer the terms as being 'free' you have to be pretty silly not to understand that 'nothing' is for free!

    ...and you can bet that as they buy in bulk from the manufacturer as a 'power' buyer, they get the lowest buy price too!

    No, I bet they'd like to offer a discount, but their supplier would mysteriously cut off their supply if they did...

    Isn't this highly ilegal though? I know it does go on though, I wonder how long Microdirect can continue selling Ipods for £5 less than RRP and also through in a free AC adaptor worth £30?
