    Hi

My shelf space has run out and my wife and children are reminding me that they too have possessions and would like space in the house for them, so I have the following classical CDs for sale. In fact, there are rather a lot more than I am listing now, but I don’t have time to put them all on here at the moment.
The links are there to save me typing in the track listings and to give an idea of current selling prices. The Amazon customer reviews are a bonus (and may even be close to the truth if you are very lucky). The links are to the actual recordings I am selling, so the sound clips may help you decide.

This is my first post here (other than saying hello in the new members thread). Anyone who is a member of PFM may recognise me - I post inane drivel (tempered, I like to think, with a certain dry wit) there under the same moniker.

All prices exclude postage. I am very poor at estimating postage charges, but rest assured that I will only charge what it actually costs. I use recycled packaging whenever possible and don’t pass on any charge for that. Please re-use any packaging you receive from me, or my wife will go on at me for ages about saving the planet and stuff.

If you are interested in any of these CDs, please post in the thread, staing which ones you’d like (along with other pertinent info –eg ‘I live in Mongolia. How much is postage?’) and I will get in touch. (I am not very good at emptying my PM inbox and people are understandably annoyed by the ‘inbox full’ message).
I am, of course, happy to answer any questions. Well, not any questions, just ones about the CDs and postage etc.
You are welcome to collect in person (I am in Northumberland, not far from Morpeth. My children haven't injured any visitors for ages).

All CDs are in excellent condition. I will ensure that any broken/cracked cases are replaced prior to posting, so that the Post Office can break them again in transit.

    Here goes:

Dvorak Slavonic dances. Pletnev. DG. £3
    http://www.amazon.com/Dvorak-Slavon...id=1163185365/ref=sr_11_1/002-7883377-1152838

Berg – Lulu. Maazel. 3CD box. Libretto. Not my cup of tea, but may be yours. £5
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Berg-Lulu-A...ef=sr_1_9/202-1295418-8974225?ie=UTF8&s=music

Copland – orchestral works – Fanfare, Rodeo etc. Previn, Ormandy etc. Sony. £2
    http://www.amazon.com/Copland-Orche...ef=sr_1_4/002-7883377-1152838?ie=UTF8&s=music

Great operatic duets. Various – Verdi, Puccini, Bellini etc. Sutherland, Pavarotti, Te Kanawa etc. Decca. Very nice. £2

Favourite Opera. EMI CFP compilation. All the usual suspects (Mozart, Puccini, Verdi etc). Sutherland, Callas, Gedda, Pavarotti etc. £2

Your Favourite Opera tunes vol.3. Good selection of excerpts. Top singers – Sutherland, Tebaldi, Pavarotti etc. Decca. £1.50

Bernstein – West Side Story (highlights). Te Kanawa, Carreras, Bernstein. DG. £2

Diva – 2CD Maria Callas compilation on EMI. £3

More to follow. I haven’t even started sorting through the classical vinyl yet…..

Remember, the more you buy the happier my wife will be. That, in turn, will make me happier. Before long there will be ridiculous quantities of random happiness floating, willy nilly, through the ether. Some of it might even rub off on you.
If all else fails, you could just enjoy the music.

    Cheers

    Martin :)

Not as much of a problem here as over on pfm. Here, your limit is 150 messages (in or out) IIRC, which should last you a while.

    These please:

Bach organ works. 20 cd box. Wolfgang Stockmeier. Art & Music. As much Bach as you could want. More, probably. I still half expect him to suddenly break out into ‘I do like to be beside the seaside’ or ‘I’ve got a luvverly bunch of coconuts’. You can see why it doesn’t work for me…..(see Mighty Wurlitzer reference, above.). Bought this in an attempt to overcome my aversion. Failed miserably. Is there no hope? £12

    and.....

20th Century Classics. Excellent 5 cd compilation. Barber, Gershwin, Holst, Orff, Poulenc, Ravel, Messiaen etc etc. Excellent recordings. Muti, Maazel, Previn, Marriner, Barbirolli. Major label recordings licensed to Disky. Buy this without fear of disappointment. £5

    Cheers,

    3. Beethoven Piano concertos 3 & 4. Ashkenazy. CSO. Solti. Decca. £3.50

    4. Albeniz – Suite Espagnola / Falla – El Amor Brujo. Burgos. Splendid. An earlier release than the one in the link below, but the same recording. £3

    5. Mozart – Complete violin concertos. 2CD set. Zimmerman, Faerber. EMI. £4.50

    6. Tavener – The Protecting Veil / Thrinos / Eternal Memory. Raphael Wallfisch, RPO, Brown. Excellent performances/recording on (now defunct?) Tring label. £2
