I have come to the conclusion that men think a good HIFI is somthing that "goes loud" is also a man who thinks with his trousers.

These people are also statisicaly more likely to drive a battered Ford Escort XR3i.

My amp may only be 50wpc and not 10kw like person x claims, but I also know that 50wpc is done in RMS and not PMPO like the boy racers stuff seem to be. My system can also do somthing called imaging and treble.

The reason I was talking about this is that this guy can't believe my system cost £700 when his 12 disco style speaker cost lest and sounds better because its louder.

Its a good thing I guess that I am apart of an elite that can regonise true music and true HIFI and not out of hand boomyness and screaming treble. Oh and vocals that sound like they are going throgh a lowpass filter.

I've got to 11 on mine once, there was no sign of any clipping however I only tried it for 30 seconds, I was too scared of blowing my tweeters, also it was so loud any longer than 30 seconds my ears would have suffered damage. Remember I have a small room though.

Mine seems to get going around 9+ can push past 12 without any signs of distortion.

Perhaps the main problem with my kit is (apart from lack of low end) is that it needs to get whacked up to get going.

Mine hasn't got 11, it's only got 'min' and 'max'. :(

I'm really looking forward to when my hearing goes too. Then I can play with loud noises like you guys.
