Today I went to my local record shop (Kingbee's) as I woke up thinking today I will find an original copy of Joy Divsion's love will tear us apart.

After searching for this in the shop on wednesday they didn't have it but today I had a strong feeling I would find it. So I have a look at the factory records section and I find an original copy of it on 12" from 1980 in virtualy brand new condition including the sleeve. The cost? £5, I was expecting to have to pay at least £15 for it!

I'm so happy as this puts my 1995 re-relaase version under London Records to shame.

Also I have noticed all of Factory's earlier records are heavier than normal, were they made from audiophile grade vinyl?

    You woke up thinking that?!

    I usually wake up with a hard-on.

Good for you. I used to own the original 7-inch version. I remember getting on my bike after school one sunny afternoon in 1980, riding to the local record emporium and handing over my meagre pocket money allowance for what was to become the first slice of Factory vinyl in my nascent collection. I seem to recall swapping it a couple of years later for a Flock of Seagulls single. Ouch.

Anybody heard Squarepusher's interpretation of 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' on his album 'Do You Know Squarepusher'? Pretty bloody good as far as covers go, maintaining a healthy dose of respect for the original....nice one Mr. Jenkinson:D
