Anybody out there had any experience of Origin Live arms on the LP12. I've noticed that from the Encounter upwards they now come with a Linn fitting and I'm starting to look to upgrade the deck and the Akito may go.

The Ekos/Aro seem a little out of my reach but the Encounter seems just about right. I know Hi-Fi World rate them very highly but any one got some real world experience of them ?

If not then I may look to upgrade the cartridge - currently a Goldring Elite. Anyone seen or heard any of the new wood bodied Ortofon Rondos ? or the new Sumiko Blue Point Special Evo III?

No experience of the OL arms but I've heard good things about the Roksan Nima on an LP12. A budget Aro, maybe?

A nice thought, but I would seriously doubt it.

Roksan Nima is a very good arm, but the ARO on an LP12 is a very, very good combination.

I would advocate saving up for the Aro. It is sublime on the LP12, and some other decks.

Aro does seem favourite when LP12 is mentioned.

Do Naim still make these or am I going to have to go 2nd hand ? I'm sure I read something not so long ago that the Aro had been discontinued.

    Thanks for the link.

There just so happens to be a Naim dealer 10 minutes walk from me. May have to go and pay him a visit.

Although last time I went to a Naim dealer he tried to convince to get rid of the deck for Naim's cheapest cd player - I wasn't too amused.
