I have recently aquired the unit pictured in the 'project superdac' thread, and so will be selling off my standard, unodified Superdac (finished in sliver).

It is just three months old, boxed with wallwart power supply and instructions. Good condition with only a couple of very slight scuff marks on the case. Also included will be a set of nuetrik XLR to RCA adaptors which i was using with the unit.

A very good piece of kit that has desrvedly aquired a 'giant slaying' rep.

    Asking £120 plus p&p

Pref PM me if interested or email; angus dot doe at imperial.ac.uk

    Regards,

    Angus

You should probably rewrite your email address in a less-easily-harvestable form - I doubt your august institution would be too impressed if you start getting loads of spam, and I'm sure you won't be either :)

I'm sure you meant to write "wallwart" there rather than inadvertantly giving the American supermarket chain a plug. That is unless they've started going into competition with Richer Sounds, well they both pile high and sell cheap I suppose! ;)

i allready do after someone signed me up for a load of porn sites!

It's early days yet, but it is a whole different animal from the standard one, hardly had a chance to listen yet. So far i have been really jigging around to some led zep and brmc, which was great.

Ive just got back from a booze cruise to france, will look forward to listening this weekend and cracking open the drinks!

Yeah, an independent comparison of the standard DAC and the WM modded DAC from the end user will be of interest to all who have been following WM mods.
May be you could tell us what sources you been using.

Eventually I plan to pay IsaacSibson to mod my superdac to an equivalent standard to W-Ms modded one, since he offered :D, and hopefully at the time we'll be able to compare both my (currently) unmodded DAC and the modded one Isaac already has, so as to give some sort of comparison :). Then mine shall get the Isaac/W-M treatment :MILD:

I would like to do a comparison post, but im a bit short on time at the moment (exams and assesments), and i haven't really "tested" it yet, im only using it in a fairly humble system in my study of arcam alpha 9/alpha plus transport and mission 761i along with mja pro 50 sub. Still, the differences are pretty marked, the mods are very much worthwhile. Makes much more muuusic along with far better detail retrieval. Will not have chance to really test it till i use it on my main sytem at home, which is what i am most used to hearing the stock superdac in. I'm a little intimidated with the task of describing the differences too, i know what i like but i may not be up to the job of putting it in prose for you lot.

    Still for sale..........................:)

With the kind of connectors it has, best place to sell is a forum for Computer Audio.

"... but i may not be up to the job of putting it in prose for you lot."

Just read a catalogue from Russ Andrews and you will be an expert at it.

    Not any more!

I'll be in touch by e-mail. Now, where does one learn about those mods then?
