He also reads and posts in this forum.

My apologies for the intrusion, but in the interests of consistency may I request that the above is also directed at Michaelab for his earlier reference to banned members, which I believe prompted Steve's response?

Please excuse my intrusion, but I'm rather a stickler for consistency in these matters.

Tim is not who he says he is and as a result has been banned. The AUP obviously applies.
    Thanks

If I say that it wouldn't be such a bad idea to close this thread isn't the same as my wanting this thread to be closed.

I am concerned that someone may have been posting on here using my account. Such an individual has either made a lucky guess or knows my password.

Oh my God. Two Steven Toys. Casually, saying JW 'doesn't really listen to his records or record player anymore' is about as surprising as hearing the Pope doesn't really believe in Jesus anymore.

Sensitivity on the web to the possibility of legal action is sometimes bizarre. In the old days,a pissed off customer would hire a van and sit in a retailers carpark and use a loud hailer to proclaim how hacked off they are. Now,everyone gets all hissy fitty when a genuine customer dares to use the internet to state some facts.Mana don't have any right of reply in law because no opinion has been expressed, all thats been posted are the facts relating to a delayed delivery. There is nothing in the contract with Mana that states you can't discuss your problem, publicly or otherwise.

Do companies sue complainents when they phone Watchdog?

    Greg,

Call it sarcasm. I've been informed by Lordsummit that someone else is posting from my ISP address. If I were to post as a troll (something I don't do) I'd at least go to the trouble of using a different computer in another town.

Heuer has been very moderate and fair in the manner and mode of his comments. He has clearly tried all the normal methods to communicate with JW et al. He has not knocked the product or made any comment which might appear premature. If Mana is no longer a solvent company they only have themselves to blame. If Mana is a solvent company then I would imagine one of two things - a) Heuer would have been able to contact them or b) someone from that org would have commented here or c) both.

I raised the issue of "rumours" on the Mana forum last night. I didn't state what the rumours actually were, just that they needed to be addressed. My post has been deleted and I've received no pm explaining why.

    The silence is deafening.

Well, Steve, if somebody has been posting from your IP address, they will have been using your computer. Did you have a visitor at the time?

Somebody also posted on the Mana forum under your name in what appears to be not quite your style, and with content that I would not have expected from you.

    A practical joke?

Only my girlfriend and I have been in this house in the last three days. Perhaps the landlord had a quick whizz on my computer on Sunday while he was fitting our new washing machine.

Well, if my landlord was whizzing on my computer, I'd certainly sk him to clean the mess up.

It's not quite that simple. The IP address registered for your posts matches that of another (very recently banned) member. That IP address is not the IP address of your computer but the IP address of your ISP's proxy server. It's quite possible that two entirely separate users miles apart could end up coming through the same proxy server if they used the same ISP. The ISP in question is a large and well known one.

    Michael.

Does that mean "Tim Marlow" was banned for using the same ISP and proxy server as Steve?

Who is on friendly terms with Steven Toy, and has a track record of posting under multiple personalities?

    A most perplexing mystery!

It means he was banned for being, quite clearly, the alter-ego of an already banned member ;)

    Hi all,

Thanks for the kind words. I am still "a" moderator on the Mana forum. My objective is to deal with general direction of the forum. Issues such as discussed here are for JW to deal with. I am not and never have been a part of Mana. Just a friend of JW's who uses Mana stands.

I am sure JW is trying to sort this out. But clearly the difficulties that people have documented here are a very big issue. I would suggest that sticking to facts here is the best thing to do to help everyone.

Anybody who posts stating that it is a good thing for Mana to go out of business is well out of order. Everyone loses. Two channel stereo loses a charismatic company, buyers won't get their stands that they ordered / paid for, the Mana suppliers also don't get paid perhaps putting jobs at risk there and jobs are lost at Mana.

    Ian
