The replacement for the 6010OSE is in a PM4000 body, the plastic affair, and costs £250. I have no idea what the audio specs are but in terms of build quality its not up to 6010ose/ki standards, I had a play with one today in a shop (I didn't hear it though).

Anybody know anything about this amp?

30WPC - same as the PM4000 and PM4200- i guess possibly replacing some of the crappier components in the standard PM4400 although I noted none of the tone balance or even loudness controls are deleted in the ose version
certainly not the desired ingredients for the successor to the 6010ose...

Not being funny but there seems to be a lot of marantz amps released all the time.

Is this not smelling a little funny?

iirc they have 2 times of model upgrades per year- september and march/april- ATs right- the 6010s quite an old model now, but the pm4200 was only out last september. the sr4400 and 5400 recievers are replacing models that are only 6 months old however- a bit silly in my books.

They probably do it get attention from the magazines. The PM6010OSE sold and was great because it was a bargain at £150 the price it sold for in the last year, however this may have eaten the sales of the PM4200 which maybe the reason this has been replaced with the PM4400 and 4400OSE.

The PM6010 in my opinion looks better than the PM4400 anyway, my parents have the PM4000 and it looks the same as the PM4400OSE other than the badges. Lets just hope for the sake of Marantz reputation this PM4400OSE more than just a slightly modified PM4000.
