last saturday it was great. even the oiks who'd been playing football all afternoon during the less charismatic aircraft's turns just stopped and directed their slack jawed gaze skywards as the spitfire took off and started it's runs. it was weird a sense of silence even though there was this mad thundering warplane in the air doing 50 ft low passes dog fighting with itself. the spell was only broken with some git in a helicopter started his whirligig a few minutes before the spitfire landed. worth the 15 quid entry fee for that alone - pity their hurrican was away at the time as they usually have mock dogfights between the two.

even a screaming race car or a bank of motorbikes can;t do that.
