you prefer Meridian 507 or Pioneer DVD player (as transport) and musical fidelity trivista 21 DAC?

amp is krell 300i and speaker is dynaudio 82.

Meridian 507 makes an excellent transport but is surely much more expensive that a Pioneer DVD player. Which Pioneer were you thinking of?

    Hi Amir.

As I understand it, you currently use a DVD player as a transport, and are looking at alternatives to use with your Trivista DAC?

If this is the case, Id humbly reccomend the Meridian 500 transport. You should pick it up for less than/equal to the 507. The 500 V2 has balanced in/out so that you can run balanced from your Trivista if it supports it. The V1 doesnt have balanced connections.

I have the 500 v2, and Im convinced its one of the very best used transports for 500-700.

Id be amazed if it wasnt noticeably better than your DVD player.

    No

I don't have them. I want to buy one of them.
    two choice :
    1. Pioneer DVD Player (as transport) + MF trivista 21 (as DAC)
    2. Meridian 507 (as cdplayer)

Well, since you put it like that, I think I'd probably go for the DVD player + DAC route. I haven't heard the Trivista DAC but all the reports of it have been excellent. It's certainly the more flexible solution. Means you can use the DVD player to, err....watch DVDs aswell and later on if you feel it's not up to scratch as a transport you can always get a dedicated trassport just for CD.

Its linked to a matching Meridian 551 integrated amp, hence the reason why I like it so much. Looks and sounds good and doesnt take over the room.
