    Hi guys!

Can a 562 be used as a pure pre amp for my 557?

    Regards

The 562 does not have a DAC, so cannot be used direct into a power amp.

(Note: I think it was possible to get a DAC module for the 562)

I would be interested in buying this, actually - would appreciate it if you aren't buying yourself. PM or email on ads142857 (at) gmail.com :)

I think it can be used for a pre amp since it has the 517 dac fitted inside.

    Or am i wrong???

If it has the DAC, then I think it can be used as a pre-amp. It may be worth doing more research, as in a really silly world the DAC module would only drive the tape out. At that price, you should be able to move it on with no problems either way.
