No chimney, but I did get a nice set of screwdrivers from my son, a pair of cycling gloves from my daughter and a Moto G Android smartphone from my wife.

Santa left me some German marzipan (well I think it was Santa.)

Santa delivered me a box of new record sleeves and digital stylus tracking force gauge.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas.

I mostly just eat and drank a lot :) My brother bought along some home-made sloe gin, my Mum made a Kahlua cheese cake and my Dad's GF made a lovely roast. Lots of other stuff too.

I nearly got there about 4o'clock this afternoon when our excellent IT manager 'found' some remarkably good red wine in his server room ;)

HNY to all from Bath (6m 40s behind London)

But legally keeping Greenwich (London) time!

Only after a celebrated legal case in Bristol, and an Act of Parliament:

Trust Bristol to want to be different :D

Nice link - thanks. Still, if your watching the Earth's rotation and timing one turn to another strictly... that 6mins is a 0.001% error. Almost as bad a Rega P3 <ducks>

(Don't get me wrong - I'm at home in Somerset, where 'hi-tech' is pigs and apples...)

As I was watching the BBC evening news I saw celebrations in Australia and the far east where they have already got to AD2014 and I thought to myself "Australians, fine, but why are the Chinese and the Japanese marking the start of the Gregorian year? Now wouldn't Pope Gregory be pleased!"

The history, astronomy and maths is interesting
