Just the specs alone are mighty impressive (1kW RMS per channel  ). The recent HiFi News review didn't hold back either - Ian Harris pretty much reckoned it was the best amp he'd ever heard (words to that effect).

The AV Lounge in London (near Spitalfields Market) has one on dem. Next time i'm there I'll have to give it a listen.

It was on the front of one of the magazines that I seen it on the other day. Looked at the usual suspects respective web sites and couldn't find which rag it was. The hifi news site looks to be in need of an update.

Did you see the bit on the MF site about can even get your trivistor kit refaced to match ;)

I don't know what it sounds like - tut, tut merlin for jumping on WMs irrational anti-MF bias ;)

Here's a quote from the HiFi News review though:

"The illusion that the music was being created live in front of me was so far ahead of anything I've experienced before, it was really quite sobering."

Quite looking forward to hearing it :p

Nothing irrational about it Michael. I used to sell the stuff and could tell you lots ;) Suffice to say that Anthony is a shrewd business man. All MF is OK, it just ain't as outstanding as the reviews would have you believe. The old A100 was nice though, whilst it worked.

Shame on you Michael, he obviously doesn't get out much these days, other than to weekend jollies organised by everyone's favourite amplifier manufacturer;)

    ********** = Bench-mark ???

    = Yard-Stick ???

= Clarrinett ??? (spelt to fit)

    = Blue-Light

If I was looking to spend £22.5K on kit i'd give it a crack!

    Trivistor CD for a further £5k (?)

And some nice custom made Kelly speakers. BTW anyone any experience with them? High Sensitivity the order of the day.

They had a piccie of it on the front of Hifi news. Incidentally MF sent me a free copy of Hifi news today, which was nice considering I don't normally buy Hifi News.

I really wish MF would stop all this limited edition crap and spend the R&D money on developing a proper product range where each product lasts more than 5 minutes.

The current MF strategy seems designed only to line AM's pockets by having new rave review products all the time. I suspect MF products are primarily designed for gullible punters with more money than sense who read the latest WHF/HFN 5 star reviews and blow the lot on OTT amplifiers with rather suspect sonics.

AM if you are reading :- we want less :zzzz: and more :pRaT:

OTOH the experience and new technologie that is developed in these flagship products (and paid for by the people who buy them) can be used for future products at sensible prices, because the research has already been paid for.

I'm sure there is also a marketing/image strategy behind it, though.

    Hi Onno,

I wouldn't mind so much if their expensive stuff actually sounded any good, the trivista amps IMO were some of the most boring things I have ever heard.

Still I guess people buy the stuff so they must like it, but I wonder how many are taken in by the hype.

    Cheers, Robbo

Come on guys - I've heard a NuVista M3 integrated and it was bloody good - not worth the £3-4K or whatever it cost maybe but still a bloody good amp. Boring would not have been a word I would have used to describe it.

Lots of people buy them and like them so they must be doing something right.

    Michael.
