    Hi David,

I use run the ISO-HR through the 8000Q as a matter of fact, although it was into a pair of ATC actives, I did once try this front end through an 8000P and some Epos 11's and that was also good a combo. My T/T was and still is a Michell Orbe. The Planar 2 might be a bit outclassed by the ISO-HR. Also depends on the cartridge you plan on using. Worth a shot for the money, but then I would say that wouldn't I! :)

A ''phono stage'' bake off would be good one day don't you think?

Hard to hear all of the phono options..

It's easy to hear mine, it's louder then the CD player at the same spot on the volume control :)

I take it the Bel Canto pre's pretty good Henry?

Agreed Chris, that would indeed be a great idea. :) Only problems I can forsee would be getting all the units warmed up from cold to give them all a fair chance, and compatability with the host system's choice of cartridge for those units that happen to have factory fixed gain/loading settings.

Not really been doing much critical comparative listening, but listening to my tuner through the new pre compared to using the former B/C integrated as a pre is certainly an improvement! Not tried running the CD player through the new pre-amp yet, I just run the CDP direct into the power amps as before.

    :)
