    Hi,

I'm looking for a new MM cartridge for my Goldring GR1 TT, which has the Goldring Elektra.

I find the sound a bit harsh, specially in the upper mids, so I'm on the lookout for a new MM, nothing too fancy.

    Any opinions?

The new [relatively] ortophons ....salsa etc were making some fine noises ...give uncle ants a pm I know he's running one on his tt at the moment.

    Z - the Salsa's a low output MC unfortunately.

I'd suggest something like the good old Denon DL110; for 70 quid it's just fantastic value and will work a treat in the Goldring's Rega arm. :)

But isn't the DL110 a MC cart? Or is it a high output one and so could go fine with my MM phono amp?

Yes, it`s a high output mc, and will work `triffic with your mm stage.

Yes, my TT has a Rega arm. One more cart to consider. ;)

An enormous leap from this in quality can be gained by the AT 150MLX model, which is more detailed and better balanced tonally. Found at "Audio Cubes".

    keep the phase
