For sale: a Mr Liang 845 single ended triode valve amp. It's a seriously heavy beast - 42kg - and the iron is impressive. The 845 tubes are nearly new (barely run in 50h or so, the condition of the valves bears this out).

It's had the recommended component mods - 5881 driver tubes, changed resistors, Audio Note caps as per this posting http://www.dms-audio.com/mr-liang-845-mod - done by its previous owner, an accomplished engineer. I can provide details.

See more info on 'ultimate' mods (not that I think they are required) here http://www.lampizator.eu/AMPLIFIERS/CHINA/MrLiung.html

The sound? Transparent and detailed and with powerful bass. Sound stage is remarkable, very solid and present.

Practicalities: two inputs, volume control. Bags of current to drive most speakers. At 24W, one of the most powerful SET amplifiers around (only 211 based designs are more powerful).

I've seen this described as an introduction to valves but in my view it's far more than that and could be a sensible arrival destination if partnered with some pretty decent equipment: come and hear it with my 15in Tannoys.

The price? What I paid for it which is £395, an absolute bargain. Too heavy to post though so needs collected.
