You will want a VGA connector as your voodoo3 on-board will not have a DVI socket.

As for type of monitor, i assume you don't game or make graphics so pretty much any monitor will be good enough. The Benq you linked is reasonable and should be fine for you.

As for resolution your on-board should be absolutely fine. Make sure your windows resolution is the same as the monitors optimal resolution. Most LCD/TFT's look pap when they aren't at the monitors standard resolution.
