I've heard that about the Obsidian Plinth too. I have to admit that one of the reasons I like it is because it looks good. I have ordered some RDC cone feet and will give them a go under the TT when they arrive. I'm getting a graphite mat too just to see what difference that makes: [URL]http://www.boston-audio.com/mat1.html[/URL] Richard at Vantage told me that the Micro Seiki gunmetal mats are particularly good for the SP10 as well. But they do cost a fortune. I've got a Garrard 401 to plinth too, eventually. I'll make my own and I've also been thinking that a monumental mason is the best place to start for reasonably priced granite / marble / slate. The Slate deck designs look nice but they are dead simple and cost a lot too. I just can't afford that at the moment.
