Have recently been listening to Porcupine Tree's - XM ( Transmission 1.2) (Ltd edition of 1000) which I picked up on ebay for £40.

This is by far the most I've paid for a CD.

Anyone paid more for a CD?

I don't know anything about the most expensive CD but the cheapest CD I ever bought was 15p. Not just one; 180 of them!

They were "Classical Spectacular" 60-cd sets at a clearence sale by the publisher, Musicbank, at eBay. I bought three 60-CD sets, £9 each.

Unsuspecting relatives abroad got these as Christmas pressies and were very happy :D

I paid about £15 for my 3 disc Simon and Garfunkel box set. That is about my dearest CD I have. Most CDs that are expensive you can buy on vinyl for much cheaper. The most I have paid for a vinyl album is £10 and that is Joy Division's Unkwown Pleasures. The most I have paid for a 12" single is Joy Division's Love Will Tear Us Apart which was £5.

Got an Iron Maiden boxset 'Eddies Archive' full of old, rare b-sides and live shows. Set me back £80.

This is my gem amongst a few others.

Would cost between £200.00 and £250.00 to replace (www.eil.com). I paid £6.00 for it still sealed. The dealer who sold it to me obviously didn't have a clue what it was worth.

My most expensive 'purchase' has to be the Iron Maiden casket also.

    Are these both LP's?

I bet the DSOTM is a peach. Do you have any other issues of this album? I've a second issue UK Harvest pressing of DSOTM and the 30th Anniversary Edition from the digital remaster when they did the SACD. The former is a bit worn but sounds the smoother of the two.

The Nimbus Supercut pressing of Sgt. Peppers goes for a cool £1k if you can find a copy (or you might get a 'bargin' and pay around £700). Its supposed to be the definitive pressing of the album.

There are those of us who prefer a first pressing DSOM to the MFSL version, and got rid of their MSFL copy as a consequence.

How much do the MFSL CDs go for these days? Not that I'd part with my copy of Dark Side... but be interesting to know. I paid £7 for my copy of that about 5 years ago... absolute steal.

Unlikely, as it came from the US (which has the largest Arab population outside the Middle-East).

Tool's Salival DVD box set was deleted in 2000, so when I bought one earlier this year (from america) it was about £85 inc. shipping and exchange.
