Yes - and it is excellent. His best solo album by a long away - and possibly on a par with The Smiths best work. Roll on Saturday at the MEN!!!!!!!

SHUT UP about the MEN - thanks to those talentless turds at Aloud, I have no ticket, no refund, and no way of getting there to get said ticket.

At least those sods managed to sell me a Glastonbury ticket - I bet IF it ever turns up, it'll have the wrong name/address on it... IF it arrives OK though, I'll at least get to see Moz soon enough!

Anyhoo, cancelled my 101cd.com order as they totally failed to get in stock, picked up a copy from MVC, and, err, was rather chuffed! What a great CD - I'm very tempted to get it on vinyl.

I'm not sure it's his BEST work, but it's easily as good as Viva hate - which was his best work 'til now, so it's his "best of the rest" I reckon - very good indeed!

Plus I LOVE the cover - very cool...

Hmm ... well I'm almost in agreement ... his second best after Viva Hate mebbe :) Still very good though. Got the new Ash and Graham Coxon albums at the same time. All well worth a spin, especially the Coxon.

Indeed, it's a pretty superb album. Any album that starts with the lyric, America, Your head's too big! deserves a listen! The B sides on the singles are rather good as well. The best track on the album for me is probably First Of The Gang To Die. It's definitely up there with Viva Hate as his best solo work.

It's been a stunning week for albums, the Charlatans latest came out and I've not been able to stop playing it, real return to form after the disappointment that was Wonderland. I'm going to buy the Graham Coxon disc tomorrow from Sainsburys  in my lunch hour.

Dylan isn't fit to lick Morrisseys' boots, Moz is a far superior writer.
I don't agree Viva Hate is his best solo album, it contains a clutch of glorious songs but it is patchy, and there is some very mediocre stuff knocking around.
Your Arsenal is way better, but Morrisseys' best album to date is Vauxhall and I, it's his most fully formed, personal and satisfying record.
As for the new one, I'll need to live with it for a bit, I'll probably be able to give an opinion in about six months!

Hmm - I still haven't heard "Your arsenal" but I LOVE Vauxhall and I...

The Morrissey album's on super thick vinyl? Sounds good. Maybe that's why it's £16.99 in HMV (OK, I know it's that they're a rip-off!). Been listening to the album even more today and it's getting better with each spin. First Of The Gang To Die sounds like something the Smiths should have recorded at the same time as There Is A Light...

Mozza and The Beta Band are on Later... with Jools tomorrow.

£16.99?! The I bought the limited edition double thickness vinyl one for £12.45 or somthing with NUS discount, it was its £13.99 normaly and thats in HMV in Market Street Manchester. I wonder if these are mainly availible in Manchester as its his home town and where Morrisey's biggest fan base probably is.

I won't mention the 22nd of May as it seems a few people including me wished they had the tickets for that, oh well I am seeing him at Move which is 300 yards away from where he was bought up. Also the Manchester Evening News Arena is not exactly that great to see bands close up as the capacity is too big.

Anybody else think Irish Blood, English Heart should replace the limp Altogether Now as the Euro 2004 football anthem...?
