MP3 goes surround

    It will probably be most useful for encoding the soundtracks of DivX/XVid files, and will probably reduce the size of the file. Cant see much use for it in music.

    I wish ogg would get the same level of hype and populism as mp3, sure its a more difficult format (it takes more processing to decode) and it takes up more memory, but it absolutely beats the hell out of mp3s for quality.

    Musepack is better still... but thats even less supported than OGG :(
