    Background information

I have owned the amplifier from new and purchased it from Audio Excellence in Swansea in 2002. The amplifier originally sold for £850 when new.

I have had no problems whatsoever with the amplifier and I'm only selling it as I've just upgraded to another Musical Fidelity Product the FB1 Preamplifier and 550k superchargers.

    Product Information

The amplifier originally received a five star review from What Hifi and was also mentioned in their annual awards in 2000.

The amplifier has an internal Moving Coil (M.C) and Moving Magnet (M.M) phonostage so there is no need to buy a separate phonostage. I have never used this although I believe that Musical Fidelity phonostages are a quality design and not merely an afterthought inclusion.

The amplifier produces 85 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 170 watts per channel into 4 ohms.

    Product Condition and What's Included

The amplifier is generally in very good condition although it does have two very small marks above and below the CD input button (see photographs)

The sale of the amplifier includes:

    • Musical Fidelity A3 Dual Mono Integrated Amplifier
    • Power Lead
    • Remote Control with Duracell batteries
    • Original Instruction Manual and Warranty Card (too late to complete this now)
    • Original box complete with internal packaging (foam holders and bag)

    Payment and Delivery Options

The Amplifier is for sale for £320 o.v.n.o plus postage cost. I believe that this is a fair amount considering the condition of the amplifier and what's included in the sale.

Using Parcel Force 48 hour tracked delivery the postage cost is £34. This includes insurance cover upto £500. If you know of an alternative cheaper courier I have no problems using them provided they offer insurance upto £500 (protection for me and you)

Using Royal Mail Standard delivery postage cost would be; £14.69 plus £3.50 for £500 compensation cover = £18.19. I would prefer not to use this service as the parcel is not tracked.

Alternatively the buyer can collect. I live in Swansea but work in Cardiff (M4 Jct 33) and travel to Usk (via M4 Jct 24) about once a week. I also don't mind driving across the Servern Bridge to meet near there or up the M50 to deliver in person one evening during the week. I would ask for £20 extra for the hassle, fuel / bridge toll etc.

I will accept the following payment methods

    • Electronic Bank transfer (Preferred Method. It's where I give you my bank details to pay into, not the other way round)
    • Cash
    • Cheque
    • Paypal (buyer to pay fee of 3.4% + £0.20 GBP)

If you are interested email me at [email protected] or send me a Private Message in case your email doesn't get through. Thanks
