Interestingly, this is what the BBC World Service did for a long time, but then it changed to having announcers with regional accents. Apparently Fiona MacDonald (no prizes for guessing the accent) is enormously popular in the Far East. My personal favourite is Gaenor Howells, with the wonderful mellifluous Taffy accent (her first language is Welsh).

Of course us Lancasters won, the Red Rose indeed. That's why Yorkshiremen to this day still carry a chip upon their shoulder

In reality, neither - the Tudors finally prevailed (Richard III of York was done over at Bosworth Field). This led in turn to a very colourful result, the method of remembering the colours of the visible spectrum

Richard OF York Gave Battle In Vain

    Indeed, well read that man.

As a card carrying Yorkist I can claim we crushed the mancs (thats the new name btw) at Tewksbury, but I suppose they did win a battle or two along the way.

    Yorkshire - Gods country.
Lancashire - The land of the red devil.

    Case closed:)

You can close all the cases you like Lamboy but we won :p
Anyway where are all the mighty Yorkshire football teams now. you haven't got one in the premiership have you?
Leeds, SWFC, SUFC, Bradford, Rotherham, Oh dear

Anyway hardly anyone from Manchester or Lancashire would support Man Ure. They're all too busy being depressed by god's own football team Man City

My grandmother was one of them...

"This is the BBC World Service"

Then she moved to Rhodesia, so my mother's side of the family has a Rhodie twang.
