Kirsty McColl will be sadly missed she was an under rated credit to the music industry.

Ive just taken the plunge and bought Music Collector Pro :D. Having searched for over 50 CD's so far, the Cover Art hit rate is about 6  .

I even tried Discs which you own. Still no luck.

When Windows Media Player reads the disc the cover appears.

Do these two packages look at the same places for their data. If so why dont i get the Covers in Music Collector Pro

    Thanks

    Chris

Very odd  I don't know where Windows Media Player gets its cover art from but Music Collector Pro gets it from either one of the Amazons or from All Music Guide.

I disabled all of the Amazons except Amazon UK and (since I wasn't doing my classical stuff yet) also disabled All Classical Guide. I also disabled CD TEXT after a while because on the 2 CDs I had which actually had it it did more harm than good in enabling the other sources to find a match.

When you've got some CD's scanned, ready to be "searched" then hit 'Search'. Usually you'll get a single match for CDDB but for Amazon and AMG you'll get several matches. You then have to go through and choose the best match. If you don't select anything it won't get anything from Amazon or AMG and they are the only places it gets cover artwork from.

Once you have something selected for Amazon and/or AMG for all your CDs in the batch then do "Add to collection" and it will go off and download details, including cover artwork.

My guess is that you haven't been selecting an Amazon or AMG match and so it's only got artwork for CDs where there was a unique match at Amazon or AMG (which is not very often IME).

Aha... Thats what i'm doing wrong.

When Amazon says its found xx matches i just bypass it and press 'add to collection' This will just add the data found from CDDB.

Time to start again me thinks. (or update existing data)

    Many Thanks

    Chris

Excellent stuff - been using it since last Saturday. Added about 200 CDs out of 450 or so. Then there's the vinyl and stuff on MiniDisc to add!
