Also if the car has no rev counter the engine sound becomes more important. I don't understand why people drive with music at 120db I mean how would you tell if a spring had just snapped? And also listening to traffic is also useful especialy with things like emergency vehicles.

My car has a very basic 4 speaker setup, two woofers in the lower door and two teaters next to the handles. It does have wiring for rear ones but I won't bother.

I think David you have hit the nail on the head, especialy if its a good album in the cars CD player, it is all too easy to start concentrating on the music while you should be concentrating on the fact you're speeding next to a school at closing time.

Motorways are different though as especialy if you're not driving fast you could cover 100 miles without even having to touch the brakes.
