Well its all real apart from when you go to the checkout page its just a dummy ( so don't enter your credit card details!)

I've done it for a server side programming assignment, it has all the usual features there.

Nice! Clean styling and nice on the eye :D

    A few observations and ideas....

The pic' of the Marantz PM4400ose doesn't load.

vinyl spelt wrong on one of the project tt

In the home cinema section pic's for products DVD6, TBB, and "Help" don't load.

When on the checkout page, there's "x" next to the product to delete the item from basket, but they're not labeled.

Perhaps having a smaller (quicker loading) thumbnail which can be clicked to view larger image. Also, a MOre info' tab would be good. Not sure if required for this or not though.

The tannoy intro is nice, perhaps using something a bit MOre interesting in design would be better though? Saying that, the tannoy is in line with the budget of kit you've included.

In all very good me thinks!

Yeah thanks I need to sort that checkout bug out and fix a few spelling erros and remove the deadlinks. The more info thing would have been fairly easy to do its just a matter of using an SQL statement and displaying an extra field on another page. If I get time I will do it. Its not due in till the 30th. There is an admin section too which allows you to edit the products just as easily as editing items on this forum.

I wanted to somthing more exciting with the flash tannoy speaker but I am useless with Flash.

I don't like the way the cd moves down when I move the cursor, I know where the cursor is without being told ;)

You should also check for non numeric values in the quantity box and print a friendly error message rather than :-

    Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'

    Type mismatch: 'cdbl'

    /shop/order.asp, line 75

Apart from that it looks cool

What did you do get that CDBL error message up? That was bugging me for hours the other night and I finally thought I had fixed it.

Also will try and fix all the database errors if I get time. The breif for this assignment didn't even require a shopping basket or anything as thats for the PHP assignment this year.

There are a few little bugs as I was learning how to it as I was going along.

Nice site. I'm curious as to how hard that sort of thing is to do, and how easy it is to add and remove stock once you have done it. I'd eventually like to put a sale page on the main pfm site for flogging records at fixed prices as an alternative to eBay, I'd want it to be real easy to update stock and also to check out via PayPal. Any tips as to where to start, i.e. any good tutorial sites?

    Tony.

Yep its very easy to add the stock. On my site there is an admin section you were you can log on and delete, modifty and add records. How easy it is to do depends on if you can use databases. If you familer with somthing like Access or My SQL you then need to code the site in ASP or PHP (other langauges can be used but ASP and PHP are the most common). SQL is also required for the query.

It took me about 50 hours or so to develop that (but a lot o it is hidden from the general user such as the admin section) but its the first time I have ever did anything like that and basicaly worked the logic out myself.

If you have used VB then ASP is quite easy, PHP is more similar to C++.

I am not sure if there are any tutorials but I used an ASP book (SAMs teach yourself ASP in 21 days) and also a few SQL and VB books I had.

You will need webspace that supports either PHP or ASP too.

Also the checkout via paypal I am not sure how easy it is do but I am sure it must allow features for it to get information from PHP or ASP perhaps using cookies.

Make sure you spell 'quantity' right.....you got 'Quantiy' next to your basket totals.

    9 out of 10 :)

How about using CSS for text and links? The links on the r/h side could easily be text only, not keen on the cd-rollovers neither... otherwise it's user-friendly and easy to use so, great!

When on the shopping basket page the final totals aren't in line with the item totals. Also don't use Red for the totals. It doesn't sit right with the rest of the colour scheme.
