The felt material around the drivers is there to reduce cabinet diffraction effects ââ'¬â€œ also seen on the BBC LS3 5a and more latterly on Neat loudspeakers. The woofer is the same as was fitted to Sony SS186E ââ'¬â€œ another small Sony bookshelf model that slipped under the radar but was actually rather good for the money.
