Timpy & myself having been planning this :)rolleyes: ) for a while now, but due to work constraints we hadn't fully sussed the format yet, anyway
Omiga Audio, chucking it's doors open for a swaray and general, 'Test the myth, voodoo day' apart form cables, isolation does it really do squat?, upsampling is the hidden fig on the audio tree?, does a transport make a difference, are mains all they're cracked up to be, does bi-wire work or not, etc
We'll have 2 complete systems for listening too and another one/room for tinkering, so please bring your kit/cables/isolation, swop it about, We'll chuck in a superdac (if it's fixed Iaasc :D ), wadia and even marantz, rotel in the mix, see if any thing cooks or not, show us why you feel no difference is possible.
Large car parking, off main road, trading estate, (no dough nuts please), we'll lay on drinks and nibbles/ heating, pub 150 yards over the road, meet some fellow Z/G's and say hello.
The proviso date is Sat 24th Jan, although maybe 31st at this rate
WE have 6 confirmed, plus a couple of regulars I'm sure will shove the head round the door.
    If your interested please Pm,
This isn't about selling us, more you guys, giving us your views on all things hifi, in a more fun way. cheers Wm

    Hi,

    Sounds interesting.

I would mind popping in but I think the 24th may be a problem. (Day after my birthday). Might be able make the 31st if you have one on that date.

I'd like to come and bring some of my homebrew diffusers :)

24th is a no-go tho. Walking trip in the Lakes. 31st is better.

When will you know the date for sure?

Mike, as long as there 'Audiofool approved', because 'normal ones' haven't been subjected to a full a/b test procedure, and therefore subjectivity is null & void sir :)

Iain, the whole point is that, you guys can do what ever you want, ABX testing, why not do kit tests as well? cdps/ pre's, what ever, no problems, I'll be honest here too, after hour or so listening, I still go back to the 'reference' we use at the start of that particular test, so I can retain a point of ref, I can't identify every cable test in a session, by the end of it. Shame I'm going to miss all the fun. I can't make either of those dates. One's a birthday party followed by a stag night and the other's a wedding.

    Hey WM!

Serious question for you sir. As you mentioned 'sceptical members', there's nothing more likely to bring out the sceptics than cables. So, would you try to allay the sceptics fears by conducting 'blind tests' (using proper blind-folds) to show that cables and power cords do make a difference. All my cables and power cords were selected on this basis and I now also apply this selection method to home auditions of CD players, amps and speakers with the aid of friends. So if there is a difference, the listeners will hear it as they will be using only their ears to listen not their eyes, if you know what I mean.;)

FWIW, I do believe that cables and power cords make a difference to the sounds of our gear but not to the extent that audio magazines would have us believe as all the tests they perform are sighted which could influence what they hear - the Power of Suggestion etc.;) Therefore, you now have the chance to put your stamp and company in the history books by conducting this test which many others have failed to do. I await the test results with eager anticipation.;)

    Enjoy the music,

    Lawrie.:D

Lawrie, all the guests can conduct the comparsions in any way the feel, unhinded, this is not just about cables, but how people percieve 'changes' that may/may not happen, weather it amps/cdps/phono stages, and why people can hear no difference, or maybe such a small differnece it's not worth the effort, or is it the golden ear club looking for some thing that's not there.
No tricks, dodges or co-ursion, it defeats the object really, We just want to find out where the yard stick is in realation, to bollox and I can hear some thing, nothing more.
I also agree with some of the mag reviews, some what embelished possibly?, I have one of those Valhalla power chords that RG had a sexual experiance over, and to be honest it's good Lawrie, is it worth £1800 (I certainly don't feel it is, but thats my opinion) down the individual, I'm more than happy with the ones I use. Besides there is a lot of cracking stuff out there at much more realistic prices imho.Wm

I'd like to come if i'm allowed. Either date is fine for me.

Ian, you can keep me company on the drive, if you require a lift.

If anyone else wants to jump in the car, let me know.

Dino, most kind offer, you have a deal. I'll bring my CDP and budget cable of choice. Even if nobody else blind tests anything, I will ;-)
