Ive been getting some static with my nad c352 amplifier when i adjust the volume knob, does anyone think this could cause speaker damage ? only had the amp for a year or so and otherwise it works perfectly, bought it online so returning it would be a hasstle.

Do you mean pops and clicks ...or a belt of static ?

If pops and clicks this could just be dirty tracks .....switch unit off rapidly rotate the vol pot back and forward a dozen times and see if the pops and clicks have moved or disapeared. The static shock is you not the unit.....your grounding your self to it causing a spark ..normally cause by synthetic carpets and nylon shirts.

You could ask a TV repair shop to check it. Amps should be straightforward to them, and fixing something that still works is way easier than fixing something after it fails. It could be a faulty pot, or soldering, or a preamp DC problem.

Fantastic job ................................next unplug unit .....remove case and spray some switch cleaner in to pot.....rotate back and forth as before.....leave for ten minutes reassemble ....listen to a clean pot!
