My mint flatcap 1 is up for sale. Serial no is 1628** which places it as made in 2000 so it's 4 years old according to http://www.naim-audio.com/products/serial_numbers.html.
It's boxed (i think i've even still got the warranty registration form still in the box). Comes with captive mains lead and a 5 pin grey snaic. i've also got a 4 pin grey snaic which i'll throw in for a bit extra if you want to use it to power an integrated amp.
this unit is ideal if you have a naim cd3.5 or cd 5 and want to get some extra performance for not much money. it will also enhance a nait 3 or nait 5 (although i think the '3' has to have been back to naim for a modification). once you've got a psu on your nait you'll be able to go straight to one of the big boy naim amps like the 250 or a pair of 135's or experiment with bi-amping, tri-amping etc. it will also power a naim phono stage for all you new 5i owners out there who want to use a stageline or prefix. it'll keep your upgraditis at bay for a while for much less than some of the power leads that have been discussed recently.
how much do i want for this marvel of modern accoustic engineering? a measly 200 ukp ono and 20 ukp for the 4 pin snaic if you want that too. i'd much prefer an in person exchange if possible (i'm in bedfordshire) but if you want it posted i'll do that but you pay the postage / insurance and i'll need cleared funds in advance. pm me with any questions or offers....
    cheers

Oh dear, what did I start :yikes:

Surely you think the Nait 3 was awful just like everyone else who heard it ;)

Of course, A Flat Cap is probably just what it needs, although my vote was for Flat-tening :D:D:D

    Cheers

Ju, I've been telling him for ages he should see the Doc about his discoloured knob (s), but he insists it's all normal, I know he's odd, but I have to work with him, so just playalong for a while It saves my lug holes in the morning :) T.

Well, as I keep saying - you didn't use NACA5 so you didn't hear the amp at its "best" - whatever that is :) Yep, I rate it - it's far far superior to the Audiodrab 8000A and Rega Mira I used before it. I'd like a Densen though admittedly ;)

The Flatcap is going on my CD5 btw - though I might get the amp modded and put it on that instead. Source first and all that though.

BTW - the phono stage on the NAIT (well, once one was installed!) is very very good :) Excellent for a vinyl junkie :)
