I know that the Naim Nait 2 can be converted to function as a "pre-amp",but does anyone know if it can then be converted to remote infra-red control?

Wouldn't have thought so, you'd be better with a Nait 3R perhaps that is equipped with remote.

There's nowhere near enough space inside to fit a motorised volume pot unfortunately. In fact, changing the volume pot to anything else, eg Alps type, is difficult due to proximity of the PCB to the switch /shaft centrelines :(

    A few months ago I dicovered a Japanese/korean (?) site,
regarding Naim audio, with kinda like a forum and (system)pictures.

I stumbled upon this picture of a remote controlled NAC72,
driven by some small outboard motor and a belt.

Don't know how it works, and unfortunately the site is completely in Japanese(-like) text, so...al abracadabra to me :(

    Here's the pic:

So,...looks a bit weird imho, but... it can be done.

    regards,
